Mapillai Samba is a robust, reddish traditional rice variety known in Tamil folklore for the strength it was said to give grooms before their wedding day. This boiled, single-polished batch keeps much of its natural bran intact, lending it a chewy texture and earthy flavour. It makes for a filling everyday rice, sourced directly from native paddy farms.
