Our Story We are a Farm to Home eco-friendly store started with love and responsibility for people and biodiversity of the environment. The widespread use of synthetic chemical fertilizers and pesticides in the environment have made us realize the importance of organic farming. Land degradation, water contamination, air pollution, climate change, and health issues linked to the food we consume.
The phrase "We are what we eat" inspired the formation of Team Seeragam. We recognized the need to create a sustainable connection between natural farmers and everyday consumers, bridging the gap for healthier, more conscious living.
With inspiration from Stalwarts in natural farming Masanobu Fukuoka and Nammalvar ayya, we set a strong value and commitment towards the path of safe food. In 2015, we started to work with natural farmers who were finding it hard to sell their produce. We identified a market for them through various organic stores in Tamilnadu and few stores in neighbouring states as well. However we also realised a need to connect to consumers directly.
Seeragam was conceived on August 17th, 2018 as a Farm to Home store, with a clear vision and commitment to the core values that continue to guide us. Before opening our store, we established key principles that we vowed to uphold, and these values have been instrumental in our growth and recognition as a unique store known for trust, authenticity and sustainability. Over the years, we have successfully partnered with more farmers and like-minded groups who share our dedication to sustainable practices and goals. After four years, we expanded our operations by opening a store at Chennai on 12th June 2022. The Chennai store operates on the same values and principles.
Seeragam works to provide a way for unadulterated, traditional and local food. We work with natural farmers across the Country who produce high quality food our ancestors ate which were natural and healthy.
To see a society where people are more aware about traditional values of food and the part it plays in the health of one’s life. To enable the farmers who are striving to make this vision come true.

The Tamil Meaning of சீரகம் = சீர் (balance / Harmony) + அகம் (body) means 'balances body in Harmony' . We strive and aim to bring only such products which could bring balance and harmony to our customers. Despite various spices available in our cuisine, 'Seeragam' (cumin seeds) is considered as one of the most prominent spice. Without Seeragam, the spice box is never complete. We have inculcated similar values into our store and policies too. To create an element of curiosity amongst the people who hear about Seeragam.
We bring you the best of natural and traditional foods from across the country. We walk the extra mile to connect with tribal farmers and ensure their produce has a place in our store. Be it a farm-fresh produce to handcrafted items, are sourced directly from farmers practicing traditional methods. Almost all our value-added products are prepared by our team (traditional home style) or from passionate individuals who are preparing the traditional way.
1. We shall proudly claim that Seeragam is the first conceptual store which does not use single use plastic packaging material. We use Cloth bag, Paper cover and biodegradable pouches & boxes.
2. We encourage people to bring own containers or bags for purchasing products and in turn focusing on reducing waste generation which ends up in landfills.
3. Every product in our store is directly sourced from natural farmers and all value added products are made by our team in our own setup. There are no traders or dealers in between, which ensures fair pricing for farmers and customers.
4. We also reach out for awareness sessions on holistic wellness, sustainability and food in the form of workshops, trainings both online and offline in Schools, colleges, corporates and other communities and associations.
